Protect yourself

  • Never send money to someone you have not met. Meet the person, agree the work, and pay only after it is done or as you agreed face to face.
  • Never pay a deposit before any work has started. A request for money up front from someone you have never met is the most common way people are cheated.
  • Nobody works for Ghana Agent. We are a directory. We do not employ artisans, we do not collect payment for jobs, and we never ask you to send money. Anyone claiming to represent Ghana Agent and asking for money is lying to you.
  • Keep a record. Save the phone number, any messages, and any payment reference. It helps us and it helps the police.

If you have already lost money, report it to the Ghana Police Service as well. This form tells us so we can remove the listing, but only the police can investigate a crime.
