What we collect
When an artisan registers on Ghana Artisans we collect their name, business name, phone number, WhatsApp number, email address, Ghana Card number, location, and any photographs they upload. Customers who post a job provide a name and phone number. We also record basic activity such as how many times a profile has been viewed.
Your Ghana Card
Ghana Card numbers and any card images are used solely to confirm that an artisan is a real, identifiable person. They are never displayed publicly, never shown to customers, and never shared with other artisans. Card images are stored in a restricted folder that is not reachable from the web. Only site administrators can view them.
What is public
An artisan’s profile page shows their name or business name, trade, town and area, years of experience, starting rate, description, work photographs, reviews, and their WhatsApp number. Registering means agreeing to have this information shown publicly. Phone numbers are published so customers can make contact directly.
WhatsApp messages
Tapping the WhatsApp button opens a conversation in WhatsApp between the customer and the artisan. Those messages travel through WhatsApp, not through this site. We cannot read them, store them, or recover them. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy governs that conversation.
Payments
Where paid membership is offered, payments are processed by Paystack. Card and mobile money details are entered on Paystack’s systems and never reach this site. We retain only a transaction reference, the amount, and whether the payment succeeded.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep artisans logged in and to display one-off status messages. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your rights
You may ask to see the information we hold about you, correct anything inaccurate, or have your account and listing deleted. Artisans can edit most of their own details from their dashboard at any time. To request deletion, contact us using the details below.
How long we keep it
Profile information is kept for as long as the listing is active. When an account is deleted, the profile, photographs, and reviews are removed. Payment records may be retained longer where required for accounting.
