The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta will today present the 2019 budget statement and financial policy of the government to Parliament.

 In accordance with Article 179 of the 1992 constitution, this will be the third budget of the Akufo-Addo administration.

President  Akufo-Addo has said that the budget will bring hope to Ghanaians.

He said the 2019 budget will “reflect the hope Ghanaians have in the government and the future of the country”.

The 2019 budget reading will be presented in Parliament today at 10 am.

Ghanaians are hoping that the 2019 budget will be an improvement on the 2018 budget and will be a relief to them.

Several analysts believe that the 2019 budget will capture the government's industrialization drive and infrastructure projects, government’s plan of raising the US$50 billion century bond among other things.

The IMF says the 2019 budget would need to address persistent revenue shortfalls and start tackling decisively the issue of exemptions.
