Ghana is not only the gateway to Africa, but a destination to Africa.
He explained that, “Ghana is a destination and this destruction to Africa is a platform to launch to Africa. You have a number of resources to others, the People in Ghana are one of the great resources you can find.”
Mr. Chrystal-Djirackor, was speaking as the Chairman at the Ghana’s first ever Largest Multi-sector International Exhibition which was opened today, Thursday 6th September, 2018 at the Ghana International Trade Fair in Accra.
The 3-day Fair which is supposed to end on 8th August, 2018, witnessed 15 countries in attendance and about 115 exhibitors participating.
Going on, he said, “I urge you all to interact particularly with the locals, the business community and I’m so glade that I listened to Mr. Obeng, who Masters’ millions of members who are Ghanaians who can partner with you. So if you open up, you have a country that is strategically located within the sub-region of West Africa to launch with the entire continent. So let’s feel free and take advantage of the opportunities that Ghana affords you including the leadership of Ghana, our President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.”
In his keynote address at the event, Dr. Joseph Obeng, the President of the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), underpinned the greater opportunities in fairs like this and therefore charged participants to take advantage of it.
Mr. Obeng, emphasized that, a complete international business has been brought to the Ghanaian doorstep and urged everyone to welcome it. Adding that, “I’ve come to realize the importance of these fairs, and no wonder why most States and countries set themselves so important in this project. And I’ll entreat Madam (Dr. Agnes Adu, the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana International Trade Fair), to let the state be much involved in this activities as it will help her so much.”
He also noted that, “Ghana as you all kmow has a great deal of business potential that will be taken advantage of by our foreign investors. Our government itself is very open, people here are serious when it comes yo business, and security is assured.”
On his part, Mr. Ebo Quaison, Chief Commercial Officer at the Ministry of Trade and Industry noted that, Government on August 14th last year, launched the Comprehensive Industrial transformation Agenda at the Accra International Conference.
He said, “This transformation agenda sort to present to the Ghanaian people a ten point industrial transformation plan that seeks to revolutionalize the industrial landscape of Ghana. In the last year, we have consistently put in place mechanisms to ensure that, this comes to fusion. Government is seeking to turn Ghana into a petrochemical hub of West Africa, we are seeking to seeking building reliable infrastructure to support the promotion of made in Ghana goods, and among others.”
According to Mr. Quaison, there has been a lot of Public Private Dialogues for the Private sectors to engage with government emphasizing on the need for such fairs like this, thus most of government’s projects will depend on machinery to put them in shape.
Dr. Agnes Adu, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited (GTFCL), was simply enthused for being part of the opening of the inaugural ceremony of the Ghana largest multi-sector International exhibition.
According to her, “The organizers are very serious, and they are very serious about promoting Ghana and making our local industry reach our global partners. And Trade Fair that’s what we are going to do, we are going to reach all the lapse, we are going to pro-post and also to provide the supported services that the exhibitors need. So feel comfortable….you are at home… you are in Ghana…..welcome to Ghana. Enjoy your few days here and take advantage of the opportunity given you.”
Mr. Prince Hari Crystal, the Managing Director of Exhibition Masters, said most of the companies, participating in the exhibition are looking forward to strike new partnership agreements, set up production plants and also get new franchises in Ghana as the meet again in a conference on Friday 7th August, 2018.
The event, was organized in collaboration with FairAct, VeriFair and Exhibition Masters and supported by the Indian High Commission to Ghana and the Federation of Indian Export Organization and many other partners.
