over the alleged dismissal of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the teaching hospital, Dr Felix Anyah.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic, Mr Cudjoe said he could only reiterate what the executive of the workers union told the membership, to go back to work as it sought clarity on the issue.

Red bands

Some workers of KBTH last Thursday embarked on a protest march over speculations that their CEO had been dismissed.

The workers wore red bands and marched through some streets in the hospital, holding placards some of which read: “No Dr Anyah, no work, ‘’Dr Anyah is the best public sector Chief Executive Officer,” “Mr Minister, Anyah is not corrupt,” “Mr President, we are disappointed,’’ and “Anyaa, Korle Bu needs you more.”

Speculation

Last Wednesday evening, there were rumours that the President, through his Executive Secretary, Nana Asante Bediatuo, had written letters terminating the appointments of Dr Anyah and other CEOs.

The Chairman of the Korle Bu Senior Staff Association (KOSSA), Mr Charles Ofei-Palm, while addressing the staff, said the management of the hospital had not received any official communication to that effect, for which reason they must consider the news as mere speculation.

Mr Cudjoe thanked the workers for heeding the call from the leadership of the union and said the issue was a high-profile one that called for the exercise of caution.
