Linares vs Campbell: Vasyl Lomachenko praises Luke Campbell's skill Featured

Luke Campbell has received encouraging praise from Vasyl Lomachenko before his first world title fight against Jorge Linares.

Campbell is preparing to challenge Linares for the WBA lightweight title in California on September 23, live on Sky Sports, and Lomachenko gave a respectful assessment of his fellow Olympian.

The Ukrainian has followed the progress of Campbell since they both claimed gold at the London 2012 Games and believes the skillful Hull southpaw will pose problems for Linares.

"It will be interesting fight, because I know this guy Campbell from Great Britain," Lomachenko told Boxingscene.com.

"He's Olympic gold medalist. Then we have Olympic Games, 2012, I fought 60 kilos, he fought 56 kilos.

"Now he fight [at] 61 kilos, [and] I fought 59 kilos. He's growing very, very fast. It will be [an] interesting fight because Campbell has good skill."

Lomachenko could move up a division to face the winner after collecting world titles at featherweight and super-featherweight.
