Emmanuel Adebayor signs for Turkish title challengers Istanbul Basaksehir

Emmanuel Adebayor has joined Turkish title hopefuls Istanbul Basaksehir.

Adebayor, who has signed an 18-month deal in Istanbul, put himself in the shop window at the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon this month where he captained Togo.

They were eliminated at the group stage after defeats by Morocco and DR Congo and a 2-2 draw with Ivory Coast.

Adebayor has played for Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City and Palace during 10 years in the Premier league, enjoying his most productive spell at Arsenal where he scored 46 goals in 104 appearances.

In contrast, he managed just one goal for Palace last season after spending six months at Selhurst Park.
